Spotify Web App Not Working

  • Restart your Spotify app: Step 1. Log out from your account in the settings drop-down options.
  • I'm using the new web API and authorizes the user with scope=playlist-modify-private. The user logs in and authorizes my app. When I later create a playlist for the user I get the response 'err.
  • The same applies to using Spotify web player, which, reportedly, stopped working too for users dealing with the issue. If subscribing is not an option and you need your daily portion of listening, then you can bypass country restriction by opting for a VPN service.

Why Is Spotify Not Working

Not working?

  • Your web browser may need updating. You can check and update it in the Help section of your browser’s menu.
  • Try opening the web player in a private/incognito window. Find the option to open a new private/incognito window in your browser’s menu.
  • If you see the message “Playback of protected content is not enabled”, check out Enable the web player.
  • Check @SpotifyStatus for any ongoing issues.
  • Some shared or public networks (e.g. schools/work/office) restrict access to certain services. You can contact those responsible for managing the network for more information.
